Keraben Grupo, a pioneer in ISO 45001 occupational health and safety certification

Ceramic tile sector leader Keraben Grupo has become the first company in Castellón to receive the ISO 45001 standard awarded by AENOR.

28 June 2019

ISO 45001 replaces the former OHSAS 18001 standard and defines the systemized management of occupational risk prevention. Not only does it guarantee compliance with risk-related legislation, but it also underpins the company’s commitment to workplace health and safety management.

Compliance with occupational risk legislation is the basis of Keraben Grupo’s firm commitment in this area, and the starting point for a cycle of ongoing improvements aimed at enhancing workplace efficiency and efficacy. In additional to complying with legal requirements, the company’s commitment to these processes also increases profitability, cuts occupational accident rates and boosts employees’ productivity, motivation and satisfaction.

The objective of this certification process is to limit the causes of occupational accidents or diseases, which, according to the International Labour Organisation, are responsible for more than 2.3 million deaths a year. In short, the ultimate aim of the ISO 45001 standard is to ensure workers’ health and safety.

This certification is proof of Keraben Grupo commitment to occupational health and safety management throughout the company, as well as its determination to promote a corporate culture based on prevention.
